Port Blair, Jan 16: The Andaman & Nicobar Police is thrilled to announce the recent induction of four Belgian Malinois pups two each in Explosive and Narcotic Trade into its esteemed Canine Unit. These highly skilled and intelligent pups were carefully selected and have been entrusted to the capable hands of the A&N Police personnel who are undergoing Dog Handlers Training at National Training Centre for Dogs (NTCD), ITBP, Panchkula, Haryana, since 11/01/2024.

The Startup Ranking 2022, organized by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, is a comprehensive assessment that evaluates the startup ecosystems of various regions, recognizing outstanding contributions towards creating a conducive environment for startups to thrive. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands have stood out among their peers, showcasing their potential to become a prominent hub for emerging businesses and startups in the Category ‘B’ States (Population less than One Crore).

Billiground, Jan 16: In a swift and efficient operation carried out on 16/01/2024, the Billiground Police demonstrated their commitment to combating illegal activities by successfully confiscating a significant quantity of Lehan in the dense forest of Govindpur-2 village under PS Billiground.

Acting promptly, SI Shiju Kumar, SHO, PS Billiground formed a specialised team under the leadership of SI Indrajit along with ASI Murcha Munda, HCs, Amrita Bawali & Sandip, PCs Selvam, Mustafa, Anirudh & Antony. The team successfully seized a significant quantity of 800 liters of Lehan stored in 7 drums & 4 Jericans along with various utensils, and timber materials used for the preparation of illicit liquor. These materials were discreetly hidden within the jungle. Subsequently, all confiscated items and Bhatti structures were promptly destroyed, dealing a major blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network.

Port Blair, Jan 16: To curb the menace of money power in elections, the Election Commission of India requisitions services of various Enforcement Agencies. As per existing practice, the Chief Electoral Officer manually compiles the seizure reports received from different Enforcement Agencies and send day-to-day complied seizure reports to the Commission.

The procedure of compilation of seizure manually by the Chief Electoral Office is cumbersome, not exactly real time base and is a complex process where lot of time in reporting and compiling is involved. A need has been felt for developing a software to remove unnecessary complexities in the process. Hence, a software called “Election Seizure Management System” has been developed by Election Commission of India.
