Port Blair, Jan 16: The Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration will be organizing awareness activities by conducting programmes and competitions highlighting the valor of Param Veer Chakra (PVC) Awardees to commemorate the 1st anniversary of renaming of 21 Islands after the names of PVC Awardees. 

Port Blair, Jan 16: As part of Animal Welfare Fortnight from January 14, 2024, the Department of Animal Husbandry organized a Pet Walk from Marina to Flag Point. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of 50 pets, of various species and breeds. The chief guest of the occasion was Secretary, AH&VS, Shri Kumar L, who flagged off the rally. In addition to the diverse array of pets, numerous school children also took part in the event. The pet owners displayed great excitement, expressing their desire for such functions to be organized regularly.

Port Blair, Jan 16: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep will sail from Port Blair to Chennai on 17.01.2024 at 1000 hrs. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 0800 hrs on 17.01.2024. Passengers reporting late will not be allowed to board the vessel.

Port Blair, Jan 16: The passengers have been informed that due to technical reasons, the sailing programme of MV Campbell Bay to Little Andaman on 17.01.2024 at 2100 Hrs from Port Blair and her return voyage on 18.01.2024 at 0800 Hrs from Little Andaman to Port Blair has been cancelled. Passengers those who are holding the tickets of MV Campbell Bay for the above sailings are advised to cancel their tickets and get full refund.

Rangat, Jan 14: The ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ programme was organised at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Rangat today. Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency as the chief guest inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional oil lamp. The Deputy Commissioner, N&M, Shri Ankit Yadav, Adhyaksh, ZP North & Middle Andaman, Shri Subrata Basu, Assistant Commissioner, Rangat, Ms. Sapna Priya, Senior Officers of the Line Departments at Rangat and general public attended the programme.
