Port Blair, Oct. 21: MV Kalighat will sail for Campbell Bay via Nancowry on 22.10.2021 (Fri) at 1500 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair on 24.10.2021 (Sun) at 0900 Hrs from Campbell Bay via Nancowry.

Port Blair, Oct. 21: The Directorate in consultation with the District Administration has scheduled the sailing programme of the vessel MV Bharat Seema to sail for Diglipur via Mayabunder on 24.10.2021 from Port Blair. As per the schedule the vessel will sail for Diglipur via Mayabunder on 24.10.2021 (Sun) at 2000 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair on 25.10.2021 (Mon) at 1500 Hrs from Diglipur via Mayabunder.


Port Blair, Oct. 19: The Andaman Based pearl scientist, Dr. Ajai Kumar Sonkar was today invited by the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind for a discussion after his latest findings was reported in the national media. Sonkar observed that pearl is not a result of foreign body reaction in oysters as has been the age old belief held by majority of scientists. Sonkar’s new finding could be a transformation process for the global pearl culture industry.

Port Blair, Oct. 21: A total of 4,74,149 doses of vaccines have been administered so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). A total of 1,72,125 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. A total of 3946 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: On the evening of 18th October 2021, two girl students of BA II year reached their College Girls Hostel at Port Blair at 6.30 PM by Boat from Sheed Dweep (Neil Island) for attending regular classes. They are the regular hostellers of the said Hostel. Upon their arrival in the premises of the Hostel, Smti. Leela Mani, Chief Warden did not allow them to enter in the Hostel in spite of their repeated requests.
