Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands attended the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha held at Guru Mandir, VIP road, as the Chief Guest on 28 January 2024. The event, organized by Manav Kalyan Seva Sangh, commenced on January 28th and will continue until February 3rd, featuring the renowned Shyam Bhai Ji Maharaj from Brindavan as the orator.

Port Blair, Jan. 29: In a ceremonious event, the EVM Mobile Demonstration Van was officially flagged off by Ms. Veditha Reddy, District Election Officer (South Andaman)/Returning Officer, A&N Islands Parliamentary Constituency from the premises of Office of the District Administration, South Andaman. This significant initiative has been undertaken to create awareness about the use of EVM among the general public for the forthcoming General Election-2024. The Mobile Demonstration Van is equipped with EVM and knowledgeable personnel, making it a mobile hub for educating citizen on the functioning and reliability of EVMs.

Port Blair, Jan 29: The 1st Chaturanga Smart Girl 2024 Chess Tournament, organised by the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association in collaboration with SURPANJALI (a cultural art forum) to encourage and empower girls concluded successfully yesterday evening at RGT Public School, Port Blair. Around 130 girl chess players enthusiastically participated, in the event. The event was held exclusively for girls in different age categories viz. under 07, under 09, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and under 19.

Port Blair, Jan 29: The Police Training School witnessed a momentous occasion today on 29/01/2024, as 35 Recruit Follower Constables of Andaman & Nicobar Police took their oath in a solemn ceremony, symbolizing the culmination of their rigorous training and unwavering dedication.

Chief Guest Shri. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands graced the occasion with his august presence.

Port Blair, Jan 29: The 41st Death Anniversary of veteran trade union leader PKS Prasad was observed jointly by CITU and Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers Association in Andaman & Nicobar Islands today (29.1.2024). The main function was held at Port Blair in the evening. Wreaths were laid on the memorial column of PKS Prasad in front of Crusade House on behalf of CITU and various trade unions. Thereafter, a meeting was held at the Crusade House premises.
