Port Blair, Jan 29: On January 29, 2024, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Secretary, PBMC, accompanied by the Smti S. Selvi, Chairperson, PBMC alongwith the Ward Councillor of Ward No. 22, conducted an inspection of Ward No 22 alongwith PBMC officials. The visit aimed to address various issues and ensure the overall well-being of the locality. Secretary PBMC emphasized the need to cover wells in the area to prevent contamination from external particles such as leaves, plastics and waste etc. The team inspected the major drain in the vicinity, issued directives to the sanitary inspector and relevant officials to clean the drain for unhindered water flow. Additionally, instructions were given to enforce fines in accordance with Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules for non-segregation of the waste.

Mr. Vishal Jolly National Executive Member of BJP & Former State President BJP-ANI expresses deep sorrow on the passing of Mr. S Krishna Rao, S/o Late S Appanna, R/o Prem Nagar Ward No 7, who left for heavenly abode on 28-01-2024. Mr. Jolly extends heartfelt condolences and prays for the eternal peace of the departed soul and to give strength to his bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. The funeral of Mr. S. Krishna took place today.
