Port Blair, April3: The Final match of Maiden DGP Cup 2023 was played on 02/04/2023 between Andaman Nicobar Police team and Jadwet Cricketing club in front of full house at Netaji Stadium. 41 teams from different part of the Islands participated in the tournament which started on 15/02/2023. The Director General of Police, A&N Islands Shri Neeraj Thakur, IPS inaugurated the match with the toss and Jadwet cricket club won the toss and elected to bat first.

Girish Arora attended a two day Chintan Shivir ‘Tourism in Mission Mode: Convergence and Public Private Partnership’ on behalf of the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) which was organized by Ministry of Tourism, GoI on 28th -29th March 2023 at The Hotel Ashok, New Delhi.  Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, A&N Islands Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) and Shri. Nikhil Kumar, Principal Secretary, IP&T and Shri Anand Vardhan Mishra, Director (Tourism) A & N Administration represented the A&N Islands.

Port Blair, April 3: The 36th convocation of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was held today at Lecture Gallery, Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), Port Blair.  The main function was held at IGNOU, HQs at 11.00 AM wherein the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu was the Chief Guest and Hon’ble Minister of Education, Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan was the Guest of Honour.

Port Blair, April 3: “G20 University Connect” program was conducted Pondicherry University in its Campus at Brookshabad.Port Blair on 31st March 2023 in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Research and Information System (RIS) with a theme on ‘Engaging Young Minds” to prosper inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented and decisive agenda of G20. This was organized to create awareness among the youth about India’s Presidency of G20, the intergovernmental program comprising 19 countries and the European Union.

Port Blair, April 3: The Indore International Chess Challengers Trophy begins today the 3rd April 2023 at The Emerald Heights International School, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

More than 300 chess players across India are participating in this prestigious event in which Five chess players from Andaman & Nicobar Islands are taking part viz. Shrihaan Karmkar, in Under 08, J S Virat in Under 10, K S Yojit in U-12 and K S Sanjhana Sri in U-16 Girls and K Tammaiah in open category.
