Port Blair, May 9: The Armed Police Unit, Police Lines conducted a rejuvenating Yoga and Meditation session in the morning of May 9, 2024, aimed at enhancing the physical and mental well-being of its personnel. The session witnessed active participation from approximately 71 police personnel, demonstrating the department's commitment to promoting holistic health practices among its workforce.

Shri Birendra Kishore Talukdar, Veteran Folk Singer of these Islands graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Shri Chittaranjan Roy, Retired Teacher as well as Folk Drama Artist and Smt. Chandrani Mitra, Singer as well as Group Theatre Actress of West Bengal were present on the occasion as Special Guests.

Port Blair, May 9: The Housing & Estate Department, Andaman and Nicobar Administration had developed Automated Allotment of Government Accommodation Application (AAGA Portal) through IT Department i.e., SOVTECH and the same has been launched on 25/03/2021. It provides end to end solution with no manual intervention for allotment and an attempt has been made to make a paperless solution. It had built in feature of online verification by DDOs, Medical Department (for medical cases) and H&E Department for further verification.

Port Blair, May 9: A three-day training program on "First Aid Fire Fighting & Disaster Preparedness" was successfully conducted at Fire & Emergency Services (HQ) from 07/05/2024 to 09/05/2024. The program aimed to sensitize teachers, students, hoteliers, and the general public about fire safety and disaster preparedness. The event witnessed the participation of 145 individuals, including a commendable number of female participants.

Mayabunder, May 9: The District Administration, North & Middle Andaman district with the aim of Zero Tolerance towards encroachment, conducted encroachment eviction drives on the second day in all 3 Sub Divisions. This initiative aims to reclaim Government land and foster a safer and more organized community environment.

Under the vigilant supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, the Revenue Officials meticulously identified and removed unauthorized structures, encroachments, and illegal occupations across designated areas within the district. The operation demonstrated a steadfast commitment to upholding the rule of law and maintaining the integrity of public spaces.
