Port Blair, Sept. 24: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma was intimated by public of North and Middle Andaman that due to heavy rain in many parts of Diglipur region on 22nd September and 23rd September 2021, there were flash floods in atleast four villages of North Andaman.

Today the Member of Parliament has taken up this matter with the Chief Secretary and requested a detailed survey of losses and damages, suffered by the villagers and to release appropriate compensation for the farmers.

Port Blair, Sept. 24: As a result of continuous heavy down pour in North Andaman since evening of  22nd Sep 2021, low lying area of RK Gram in Diglipur witnessed flash floods on 23rd Sep 21. On request of local administration, the Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters at Diglipur in a swift operation in conjunction with Department of Revenue and Forest mobilized its resources for rescue and relief of people in inundated areas.
