Port Blair, April 19: The Principal, Police Training School, Prothrapur, Shri Ram Kumar Verma, took the salute at an impressive and colourful Passing Out Parade of the recruit Constables (Driver) of A&N Police held at the Parade Ground of Police Training School, Prothrapur on 18/04/13 at 0730 hours. 57 recruit Constables (Driver) who have completed their training took the oath of dedicated service in the Andaman and Nicobar Police force during the ceremony. The deployment of these drivers shall strengthen and improve the mobility of Andaman & Nicobar Police.

Speaking on the occasion the Principal, PTS congratulated the inducted Constables (Driver) and emphasized the importance of rendering selfless service to the public. He advised them to acquire traits such as dedication, self-commitment and professionalism to serve the general public in the best possible manner. During the training, the recruits were trained in Physical Training, Un-Armed Combat, Weapon handling, technical training on maintenance and to keep of motor-vehicles and General Laws.

The Principal PTS also presented trophies and awards to PC (Dvr)3026 C. Surya Prakash and PC (Dvr)3043 U. Vignesh Raja who were adjudged best in the fields of Indoor & Outdoor training respectively.

Wishing them all a very bright and successful future the Principal exhorted them to bring laurels to the Police Department and to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

It is informed that there shall be interruption of power supply in Baratang Feeder from Rangat Bay Power House to Baratang on 20th April 2013 from 0700 hours to 1300 hours for carrying out urgent maintenance on HT/LT line and erection of Distribution Transformer at Bakultala area. This work shall not be done in case of inclement weather.

Port Blair, April 19: Mrs. Devkirti Vidya Kumari, Tutor, School of Nursing, DHS, Port Blair, W/o Shri Rama Rao, Clerk, PBMC, R/o Dairy Farm passed away today at Chakraborty Hospital, Dollygunj following a brief illness. She was 50. Late Devkirti is an Ex-Carmelite and is the daughter of Late Benjamin Barla.
